Leading LLL: On David Ben Gurion and ChatGPT

David Ben-Gurion. (2022, December 8). In Wikipedia. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Ben-Gurion

Once every 100 years we have major technological change. It took AI 20-30 years to get it (from the days of Prolog). It is here with ChatGPT as a key leader.

While there are 10+ engines that are trying to do it, there is only one now that is doing it!* (* 80% – It is HTML1, but it will get to HTML5, and more)

This is what Ben Gurion would feel (+ an example of how I used it.)

[C] On David Ben Gurion and ChatGPT (the AI engine)

As the first prime minister of Israel, David Ben Gurion was instrumental in establishing the state on May 14, 1948. While many celebrated this historic moment, Ben Gurion was said to be somber and contemplative.

Fast forward to today, and the advent of AI technology such as ChatGPT has many people feeling excited and optimistic. However, it is important to recognize that this technology also has the potential to create a divide between those who have access to it and those who don’t. If we continue on our current path, we may see:

But it is not too late to change course. By embracing the responsibility that comes with the power of AI, we can ensure that this technology leads to positive outcomes for all of society. Let’s work towards a future where AI enhances our lives rather than causing further division.

With great power comes great responsibility.

How I wrote this item:

[A] I asked ChatGPT to write the item for me. — did not come well.

[B] I wrote it from zero.

[C] I asked ChatGPT to re-write my text (The above result)

For reference, here is the text:

[B] My second version. (which I wrote myself)

It is said that David Ben Gurion, father of the Israel nation, was quite ponderous the night on May 14, 1948, when the UN voted to establish Israel. Many were dancing, he was somber.

So today, many are dancing when they see, feel, and do with ChaGPT— But Im somber.

This technology, more than any other digital technology, will create a rift in society — between those who have and those who don’t.

If we progress as is, there will be:

Let’s not make the mistakes of the past; let’s make sure this technology leads to good things. It is possible.

With great power comes great responsibility.

[A] In this first version, I asked ChatGPT to write with this prompt:

Write an article on the feeling one has when one sees AI in action like ChatGPT; start with the feeling Ben Gurion, the first prime minister of Israel, had on the independence day

As the first prime minister of Israel, David Ben Gurion had the privilege of witnessing the country’s independence day on May 14, 1948. It was a momentous occasion, marked by the signing of the Declaration of Independence and the establishment of the State of Israel.

But in addition to the excitement and pride that came with this historic event, Ben Gurion also felt a sense of awe and amazement as he watched the new nation’s technology come to life. One of the most impressive examples of this was the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the form of ChatGPT, a revolutionary chatbot that could engage in intelligent conversations with human users.

As a pioneer in the field of AI, Ben Gurion was well aware of the potential of this technology to transform the world. He saw ChatGPT as a symbol of Israel’s forward-thinking approach to innovation and as a glimpse into the future of human-computer interaction.

When he watched ChatGPT in action, Ben Gurion was struck by the machine’s ability to understand and respond to human language in a natural, conversational way. He was amazed by its ability to learn and adapt to new situations, and by the way it could engage in complex discussions on a wide range of topics.

For Ben Gurion, seeing AI in action on Israel’s independence day was a powerful reminder of the nation’s potential to lead the world in technological advancement. It was a moment of pride and excitement and a glimpse into the incredible possibilities that lay ahead for the country.

As we continue to develop and advance our use of AI, we can look to the example set by Ben Gurion and the pioneering work of ChatGPT as a source of inspiration and a reminder of the incredible potential of this technology.
